FTHS Mid-Week Inspiration

Welcome crafty friends!

Time for this weeks inspiration at From The Heart Stamps!

I didn't get a chance to use this weeks Sketch challenge to create my card. I was a lil pressed for time and wanted to make a quick, CAS spring card.

I did used this month's SOTM image Lucky Lil Birdie. There are still a few days left to join us for this challenge.

If you joined the challenge in February, you should have received Lucky Lil Birdie via email. This challenge closes on the last day of the month, and a new image will be posted and emailed by the 3rd of next month.
If you missed out, you can still play along with the challenge by purchasing the image.
Then you can enter the challenge and receive next month’s digi free. OR if you spend $10 in the From The Heart Stamps store this month, you can enter code Good-Luck to receive Lucky Lil Birdie as a FREE gift.

Hers is my card for this week!

This week image is from Cute As a Button. And let me tell you - these digis ARE cute as a button :) I do however have to say I struggled a little bit with this image. When it came to coloring the Shelties I was kind of "at a loss". I had pictures on my computer screen for color reference, etc. But for some reason, they just didn't quite turn out like I had imagined. But I keep digging and this I what I came up with.

I hope you like it!

FTHS Mid-Week Inspiration

Welcome to my 2nd post of the day!

Are you ready for some inspiration?

I always find sympathy cards a difficult thing to do. Because they are for such a somber moment in time. And when I seen this weeks twist of "Easy does it" - I was trying to think of how to 'play on it'. For me personally, I think sympathy cards should be simply stated, not over the top with lots and lots of embellishments. And sometimes - sentiments can be just as powerful as an image.

With Faith's image Time to Bloom - it includes three images: main image of flowers and pocket watch, flower corner accent image, and butterfly, and six bonus sentiments. There are numerous ways this can be used. And to me - just the statement simply stated and a couple of butterflies I thought would be fitting for a sympathy card.

I hope you like it. As I cut the images of the butterflies out - I wanted to give them antennas. I thought the twine would make them look 'realistic'. And it's hard to see in the pic - but each of the butterflies has just a light coating of sheer sparkle over the top.

March Blog Hop @ FTHS

Welcome to our From the Heart Stamps March blog hop.
We have a Spring Theme this month.
Our designers are each showing a project created with this theme.

If you have arrived from Lyn, you are in the right place, if not why don’t you start on the From the Heart Stamps blog, so you don’t miss anything.

Not sure about you, but I sure am ready for spring! And when I think of spring, I think of flowers like tulips and daffodils, and buds on the trees. New life in everything and everywhere you look.

So here is my project - I hope you like it  :)

Image: Every Flower
Paper: Every Flower DDP, blue cardstock
Color medium: Copics
Other Supplies: Jolee's Boutique Dimensional Stickers (Bee), Memory Box Stitched Rectangle Layers Dies, Tim Holtz Distress Crayons & Watercolor cardstock, Michaels paper roses, Doodle Designs Bakers Twine, Glossy Accents, Gelly Roll Clear Star pen

When I was looking for some paper to 'back' my image, I really didn't like the solid colors I was coming across. And I remember on a recent trip to the craft store I had bought some Distress crayons and watercolor cardstock. I though I would play around and make a 'marble effect" background. I think it turned out :) And I really like Faith's Every Flower DDP. I think is really makes the image 'pop'

Now head over to Ruth, and see what she has created. As you hop along, leave a comment on each blog. We will select a random winner from the comments on each blog and on the FTHS blog to win one image of your choice.

Our hop will end on Sunday March 12th 2017 at 6 am, and the winners will be posted on Wednesday March 15th.

Thanks for hopping with us today.
