FTHS Mid-Week Inspiration

Morning!! Welcome to my 2nd post of the day!

It's time for some mid-week inspiration at FTHS!
I can't believe Valentine's day will soon be here.
It's hard to think Christmas was a month ago!!

Anyway, I hope you like my card for today. I had fun creating it :)
I think this image is just adorable for a cute Valentine's card. And comes with a couple of wonderful sentiments as well.

I also used the current sketch #136 challenge that is going on right now.

I just love the Distress paper by Tim Holtz. As you can see, I ran it thru my Cuttlebug with my Doodle hearts folder. Then ran a sanding block over the top to 'knock' the pink off the tops of the hearts.

Challenge #262

 It's Wednesday!
Time for Penny's Paper Crafty challenge.

This weeks challenge is:
Challenge #262
Celebrations

When we were given our images to use, I couldn't resist this adorable lil guy! This image is wonderful for boys cards and can be colored so many ways. And I had fun creating a little scene with it as well.

It's a little hard to see, but I used Black Enamel Accents on the 'nut' of the propeller. And it wasn't quite dry and I went to add a lil shimmer into the images and dropped my pen right into it UGH!!!! It then proceeded to roll over and get 2 black marks onto the yellow background paper.

At first - I panicked a little, then I was like "Embellish it". So, I punched out a couple of clouds which happened to be just the right size to cover up my boo boo. And the rest is history as they say :)

FTHS Mid Week Inspiration post

Hello friends!

Welcome to another mid-week inspiration post at From The Heart Stamps.

Not sure how the weather is by you, but here in the Midwest it has been bitterly cold! So it was fun to work on this card that reminds me spring IS coming...lol.

I usually print off the sketch layouts ahead of time so I have them in front of me as I craft. But I am running low on ink, and my layout printed rather lightly on my sheet. And I didn't quite "catch" that there was another 'layer' on the left side of the sketch. But anyway....I also incorporated the twist as well. I have a couple of "twist" of the nature on here. The natural feel of the card being that it's on kraft cardstock. Also, if you look closely at the background DP - it has trees w/leaves on them. And finally - the branches and rose which can be found out in nature :)

Image: Prickles Says Hello
Paper: Kraft cardstock, the Paper Studio Little Safari w/glitter
Coloring Medium: Copics, Gelly Roll Clear Star pen
Other Supplies: Glossy Accents, Spellbinder Celebrations Pierced Circle die, Recollections roses, Cheery Lynn B146 Pine Branches die

I hope you will join us this week for our sketch challenge.

Mid-Month Remider @ From The Heart Stamps

Happy Friday crafty friends!!
I am here today with a mid-month reminder for the
Stamp of the Month over at FTHS!

I sure hope you got this cute little image!
If you missed out, you can still play along with the challenge by purchasing the image. Then you can enter the challenge and receive next month’s digi free. OR if you spend $10 in the From The Heart Stamps store this month, you can enter code STAY-WARM to receive Cozy Kittens as a free gift.

I personally have 3 kitties. Our female Abby was a Christmas present from my husband & son. We got her from the local Humane Society. Then we took in a stray one cold winter and slowly introduced him to our home. His names is Sniffles! And out last cat was also a stray who "found" us shortly before we moved to our current home. We use to live in the country and he was covered so thick in burdocks, we had to cut them out of his hair. So naturally we named him Burdock :)

Here is my card. I also used the current sketch challenge w/the twist.

Challenge #259

Welcome back to Penny's 1st challenge of 2016!!

I hope you enjoyed your holidays! We did even though we celebrated a little late (Jan 3rd actually). The joys of have family with different time schedules and sickness! No major sickness, but enough to delay things a bit. Oh well, still had a wonderful time watching the grandkids opening gifts :)

Our 1st challenge of 2016 is:

More than 1 fold

I wanted to challenge myself a bit on this one. I never really think to do more than 1 fold and I wanted to do something more than a "normal" gate fold card that I know. So, I was looking at tutorials on YouTube and came across a very interesting looking one I wanted to try. It's done by Split Coast Stampers and you can find the link here.

Here is my 1st try at this card! My measurements were off just a 'smidge', but I think I did pretty good for my first try at this type of card!

I wanted to give you a couple of different angles to see how awesome this fold is!

Products used:
Image: Sami Stamps Valentine Rose Feathers
Paper: the Paper Studio-Oh La La, brown & pink textured cardstock
Coloring Medium: Copics, atyou Spica pen 03 Red, Gelly Roll Clear Star pen
Other Supplies: Spellbinders Celebrations Pierced Circles & Nestabilities Lacey Circles dies, Little Yellow Bicycle die (love), Smooch Glitz-Frost, Memento Ink-Rich Coca, Distress Ink-Old Paper, Hero Arts CL585 Sweet Hearts stamp
