i {heart} sketches 55

Welcome back for another i {heart} sketches challenge.
Not sure how many of you out there are Nascar fans, but wasn't the Daytona 500 pretty great! Even after the almost 7 hr rain delay. It made things very interesting running it later in the day, and having all the rubber washed off the track by the rains. And it helps when your favorite driver wins too
Well, enough about is this weeks sketch.
And my take on it :)

Image: FTHS Cardinal & Winterberry
Paper: Kraft cardstock, Jillibean Soup Winter Tortellini & Spinach Soup, Bo Bunny Very Vintage Double Dots
Coloring Medium: Gamsol & Colored pencils, Copic
Other Supplies: Stickles Star Dust, Gelly pen Roll Clear Star, Hero Arts Big Hugs (a simple hi), Colorbok Gemstone, AC Primio red & natural twine, Recollections flower, ek Success Dotted Scallop punch
Sketch: 55

I LOVE when the cardinals come to our feeders!! They are so colorful and I like their little chirp they make. I remember one time, I had 4 pairs - yes 4 males & 4 females all together at the same time!! They just 'lit' up my bare winter tree - it was beautiful!

EVERYONE who enters will receive $1 to Use it as a discount, or save them up to earn a free stamp. We will have a new sketch for you next week. Linky will close on Sunday at 10PM CST. Join us on Facebook and “Like” our page to see sneak peeks.

Have fun and let's see what you create!!

Weekly DT Inspiration @ FTHS

Hello crafty friends!I hope this finds you all well :)
I didn't get a chance to make a weekly sketch card this week. It's just been a lil' crazy around here lately. Between work, people out sick at work, sister in law having open heart surgery, planning & finishing stuff for my daughter in laws baby shower coming up in 2 weeks & my niece's wedding in a month........YIKES! Deep breath - I can do this...LOL!

So, I opted to 'catch up' by making a card for our weekly DT inspiration post. I think Ali is just a darling image, and then to pair it with a cute kitten...what's not to LOVE right! Don't know about you, but I am SO ready for spring. We are bracing for another snowstorm tomorrow. Anywhere from 2 to 4 inches here by us, to 12+ inches about an hour and a half from here. Depending on how the storm tracks. Freezing rain, high winds...YUCK!

That's what inspired me to make this spring like card! I suppose the colors could really go either way - spring or fall. But I went w/more yellows to give it a more spring vibe.

Well....back to making more shower decorations and such. I will get those posted too, once it is all done and behind me :) Enjoy the rest of your day!

February Blog Hop @ FTHS

Welcome to our From the Heart Stamps blog hop.
Our theme this month is Feel the Love.
Our designers are showcasing Valentine’s and Love themed projects.
As you hop along, please leave a comment on each entry. One random commenter will be selected on each blog to win the image that the designer used. And additionally, one commenter on the From the Heart Stamps blog will be selected to win a $5 gift voucher to the store!
If you have arrived from Lyn's blog, you are in the right place. If not, why don’t you start on the From the Heart Stamps blog, so you don’t miss anything.
Here is my project, using FTHS Birdbrain Football Fanatics

Image: FTHS Birdbrain Football Fanatics
Paper: Colorbox Patterned Paper "Love" & Silver Pearlescent Paper
Coloring Medium: Gamsol & Colored pencils, Copics
Other Supplies: Martha Stewart Small heart punch, Bakers Twine ($1 bin @ Target), Memento Ink Angel Pink & Lady Bug, atyou Spica markers 03 Red & 07 Olive, Fiskars Wishes All Around Clear Stamp (Love), Peachy Keen Stamps PK-09 Cheesy Packers Fans (hearts) and bag of Boy Scout microwave popcorn

It's hard to see, but the paper under the image, wrapped around the package says "love" all over it. I was trying to think of a little something different than the usual chocolates associated w/Valentine's. My hubby has been watching what he eats and really likes the Boy Scout Lite microwave popcorn. And I thought it would be a cute way to "dress" it up a bit :) And I just LOVE  these new Birdbrain images Faith just came out with. This set can be used in so many different ways!
Now head over to Michelle P and see what she has created.
Thanks for hopping with us today. The hop will end on Monday February 10th at 6am, EST. Winners will be posted on the From the Heart Stamps Blog on Wednesday February 12th.
