Weekly Inspiration @ FTHS

Hello again!
Sorry I have been a bit of a 'party pooper' lately. But it's like everything is going 90mph lately. We had painters in doing our 1st floor, stairwell and upper hall, so the house was just a mess. Plus work and getting ready to go to Vegas in approx. 9 days....WHEW!

I have to remember to BREATHE :)

So, I have been seeing a lot of people doing tags and such lately. And I thought to myself.....I have yet to make a wine bottle tag.
So guess what....I did!

It just makes the bottle a little more appealing (if you will) when you give it as a gift.

And here is a close up of this cute image!

Image: Birdbrain Wine
Paper: Kraft card stock, scrap paper
Coloring Medium: Copics and atyou Spica pen
Other Supplies: Prima flower, Martha Stewart leaf punch, American Crafts colored twine, Doodlebug pearls

I decided I wanted to pop the image up on the circle and then again on the tag itself for a little more depth. And the saying is oh so try as well
"Whine and wine are better when shared with a friend".
Well......off to try and get some packing for Vegas done!

FTHS weekly inspiration

Hi everyone - hope you all are doing good!

I have the whole week off - a 'staycation' if you will. We had painters over doing our entire 1st floor, hall, and stairs. Someone had to be present while they were here, and the hubby was up bear hunting this week so it was me. But that's quite alright, plenty of little projects around here to get caught up on :) P.S. Hubby got his bear - YAY!!

Well, now for the weekly inspiration post. This is the first time I can say I was truly stumped when it came to the sketch. SO.. I opted for the twist
"Use Something Recycled" part.

WAY back when one of my first tutorials was using a CD. For the most part CD's are pretty much a thing of the past. With iPods, cell phones and thumb drives - you can pretty much store your stuff in numerous places. The company I work for use to receive plans & specs for upcoming projects on CD's. After a certain amount of time, we would basically throw these out as we no longer had a use for them. So I said - save me a bunch I will find something to do with them.

Here is my project. I basically take the CD and 'sandwich' it between the 2 pieces of cardstock. That's what gives it durability. I then create my magnet - for lack of a better word. Seems how fall is coming, I decided to make a fall themed magnet. So, after it is all done - up on the frig it goes. To hang up the grandkids works of art :)

Sept Blog Hop

Welcome to our From the Heart Stamps blog hop.
Our theme this month is
“For the Bird{brains}”.

***LOTS TO COVER TODAY SO READ CAREFULLY***

As you hop along, please leave a comment on each entry. One random commenter will be selected on each blog to win an image of choice from the FTHS store. Some Design Team members are also giving away the actual project they create for the hop, too. So, you may win an image and a card or project from some of the blogs! And additionally, one commenter on the From the Heart Stamps blog will be selected to win a $15 gift voucher to the store!

Have you ever had a great idea for a Birdbrain image? Well, this is your chance! One lucky winner randomly selected from all the comments will be selected to work with Faith to design a Birdbrain image!

And, we would like to invite all of you to be a part of our hop this month, with the DT! There is an inlinkz on the bottom of the post at FTHS and on each individual blog. Use one of the designer’s tutorials and your favorite Birdbrain image to create a project to play along. We can’t wait to see what you create! If you are interested in guest designing for FTHS over the next few months, simply add GDT to your entry. We are looking for six people to guest design for two month rotations over the next 6 months.

Hope you will print off your favorite Birdbrain and play along!

If you have arrived from Lyn, you are in the right place, if not why don’t you start on the From the Heart Stamps blog, so you don’t miss anything.

Here is my project

Image:  FTHS Birdbrain Card Sharks
Paper: Kraft Card stock,  My Minds Eye Be Amazing Follow Your Heart
Coloring Medium: Copics, atyou Spica marker 21 Lipstick
Other Supplies: Spellbinders Labels Three dies, Sakura Clear Star pen, American Crafts twine, button, Fiskars Oval punch , Michaels Pearls ($1 bin)
Special Techniques: Paper Piecing

Here is my tutorial on Paper Piecing:

Print your image on both white cardstock and the designer paper you wish to piece with

Color in your image – in my case I also wanted to paper piece the wings, so I colored an extra image

Fussy” cut out the part of the image you wish to piece onto your image. In my case I had both the deck of cards & wings

I ran my pieces thru my Xyron Sticker machine

Carefully pull back the film and remove your stickers

Apply to your image
and…..TA DA!!!!

Now head over to Stephanie and see what she has created.

Thanks for hopping with us today. The hop will end on Sunday September 14th at 6am, EST. Winners will be posted on the From the Heart Stamps Blog on Wednesday September 17th.

Thanks for stopping by!!
